Seven Hills Athletic Program Grades 1-5

The Seven Hills Athletic Program emphasizes participation and the development of athletic skills in grades 1-6 to enable Seven Hills to field its most competitive teams in grades 7-12. In grades 1-6, coaches are primarily volunteer parents. These volunteers have proven to be dedicated and successful coaches at this level. The Athletic Department believes firmly in the value of the relationships that develop on the athletic field and the bond that results between a parent/coach, his or her child and the team. The understanding, respect and commitment to skill development generated by this system create a common philosophy shared by the parents and the School.

Seven Hills offers soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, and track and field in grades 1-5.

Fall Sports

In the fall, boys and girls play soccer through the SAY (Soccer Association for Youth) East organization. Placement on a team is determined by age level, not grade level. Students ages 6–7 play within the Passers division of SAY, and teams are formed at both Doherty and Lotspeich. Students ages 8-9 play in the Wings division of SAY, and Doherty and Lotspeich students are combined to form teams. Students ages 10–11 play in the Strikers division of SAY, and Doherty, Lotspeich and Middle School students are combined to form teams.

Detailed information about team formation, coaching, registration and fees, etc., can be found on our SAY soccer program page.

Winter Sports

Second through fourth graders at Seven Hills Lotspeich School participate in intramural winter basketball with Seven Hills Doherty School, while fifth graders play on interscholastic teams. Girls in grade 2 are invited to participate in a basketball clinic to develop their basketball skills. Girls in grades 3 and 4 play in an instructional basketball league and compete with other Seven Hills teams. In grades 5 and 6, the girls participate in the Eastern Hills League. Boys in grade 2 are invited to participate in a basketball clinic to develop their basketball skills. Boys in grades 3 and 4 play in an instructional basketball league and compete with other Seven Hills teams. In grades 5 and 6, the boys participate in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) League.

Spring Sports

In the spring, softball, baseball and track teams are offered for both boys and girls; softball for girls in grades 1–5; baseball for boys in grades 1–5. Track is offered for both boys and girls in grades 1–5.
Seven Hills appreciate the parents who volunteer their time as coaches, referees and league assistants so the students can have wonderful sports opportunities!
